Kashmir Journal of Legal Studies (KJLS) (ISSN 2250-2084) is a refereed, peer reviewed and open access journal (free for readers), international multi-disciplinary journal, which publishes original theoretical and empirical work on diverse disciplines of knowledge.

 KJLS regularly publishes research articles, reviews, short notes, seminar proceedings, book reviews, research abstracts, etc. in Legal Studies and allied subjects.

 There is no restriction on the length of the papers as we encourage researchers to publish their theoretical and empirical results in as much detail as possible, but would encourage research conceived in not more than 5000 words. Full details of proofs must be provided for theoretical papers, so that the results can be checked; and full experimental details for experimental papers, must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Additionally, electronic files or software used regarding the full details of the calculations, experimental procedure, etc., and supported as supplementary material.

 The papers/s already published elsewhere will not be considered for publication in this Journal. The authors shall have to furnish a certificate to the effect that the research paper has neither been published in any other journal nor has he/she resorted to any sort of plagiarism.

 The editors, publishers and printers do not own any responsibility for the views expressed by the contributors and for the errors, if any, in the information contained in the Journal and author/s shall be solely responsible for the same.

About College

Kashmir Law College was founded by the erstwhile Shadab Educational Trust and is now incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 as SHADAB FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION AND CHARITY, to impart quality legal education to meet the challenges of globalization. Although there is a Law department in the University of Kashmir, yet the erstwhile Shadab Educational Trust took a bold decision to introduce the first law college in the private sector in Srinagar city, located at Nowshera which is about 8 Kilometres away from the District Court Complex, Srinagar.  The College is in close proximity of the University of Kashmir and Institute of Medical Science, Soura. It has a beautiful campus spread over an area of 8 Kanals of land.  The College is now permanently affiliated with the University of Kashmir and recognised by the Bar Council of India.

            The College has maintained a steady progress in terms of academic growth and expansion. The College is approved by the Bar Council of India for imparting Legal Education and has also been recognised by UGC under Section 2 (f) and Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.   The college focuses on applied legal education which develops the frontiers of knowledge that is relevant to the Students as practitioners in public institutions and society at large. The college was established with the objective to prepare the professionals who acquire the power of clear thinking, accurate analysis and cogent expression.

The college offers quality legal education using multifaceted pedagogy with an effective interface with law to translate the mission into action. The college has a vibrant, qualified and experienced teaching faculty supported by very senior guest faculty members. It creates opportunity for its students to enhance their understanding of economic, social and political environment, to enlarge their ability not only to adjust the change but to work as a catalyst and to develop their power to conceptualize, decide and communicate. The serene ambience and academic culture of the college with its improved infrastructure provides an ideal environment for the pursuit of academic excellence in legal education which is intended to sustain excellence as one of the leading law colleges in India.
